Gaming enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer for the release of Dying Light: The Beast. Developer Techland recently announced a revised launch date of September 19th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Originally slated for August, this new timeline provides the studio with additional time to refine crucial game aspects. According to Techland, this extra period will be dedicated to enhancing the user interface, meticulously balancing the gameplay mechanics, and perfecting the fluidity of character animations.

In a statement to the gaming community, Techland emphasized their commitment to delivering a top-tier gaming experience. “Our ambition has always been for Dying Light: The Beast to represent the pinnacle of the Dying Light franchise,” the company stated. “To fulfill this vision, we’ve decided to shift the release to September 19, 2025, enabling us to further polish the game. While we recognize this delay may disappoint some, our experience demonstrates the significance of the initial impression. With just a few more weeks, we can fine-tune those final elements that differentiate a good game from an exceptional one.”

Initially announced for release on August 22nd, Dying Light: The Beast presents a thrilling, independent story. Players will step back into the shoes of Kyle Crane, the iconic protagonist from the original Dying Light. After a decade of horrifying captivity and genetic manipulation at the hands of the nefarious Baron, Crane is driven by an insatiable thirst for vengeance, and eventually manages to escape.

Crane’s pursuit of the Baron leads him to Castor Woods, a once-thriving tourist spot, now teeming with hordes of infected. Fortunately, Crane’s skill in parkour is not his only asset. The Baron’s experiments have imbued him with new, rage-fueled abilities, allowing him to tear through hordes of zombies. And when brute force isn’t enough, Crane still has an arsenal of classic firearms and melee weaponry to even the odds.
