• Bitcoin Mining OS (MOS) is adaptable, working seamlessly from home-based mining to vast facilities with hundreds of thousands of devices.
  • The open-source MOS aims to diminish reliance on specific vendors, empowering miners with complete management of their infrastructure.
  • Tether envisions becoming a leader in global Bitcoin mining, surpassing publicly traded firms by the close of 2025.

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, has announced plans to release their Bitcoin Mining Operating System (MOS) under an open-source license before the year concludes. This advanced OS is built for versatility, capable of supporting everything from individual miners’ setups to extensive industrial mining farms housing hundreds of thousands of machines.

According to Ardoino, the latest iteration of MOS is undergoing rigorous testing. The architecture of MOS is modular, based on peer-to-peer IoT principles, and supports various setups, including air-cooled and immersion cooling systems, alongside diverse electrical and cooling infrastructures.

Tether intends for the MOS to reduce dependence on external service providers. Miners will gain greater independence over their setups, diminishing the need for restrictive proprietary software.
