The highly anticipated rogue-lite dungeon crawler, Hades 2, has been available in early access through platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store since May of the previous year. While Supergiant Games, the development team, has not committed to a specific date for the version 1.0 launch, recent game improvements suggest the full release is drawing nearer.
Earlier in the month, gamers received Patch 10, and it seemed that it would be the final touches before the debut of the complete game. However, the gaming world received an unexpected bonus as another update was pushed to live.
Patch 11 for Hades 2 was launched this week and is now positioned as the
actual last stage of optimization before the final version hits digital
shelves.
“Even though we declared the prior patch as the *likely* conclusion to updates before the v1.0 release, destiny has intervened, warranting this additional installment,” as stated in
a message on Steam, alongside the update’s comprehensive notes.
Similar to previous improvements, Patch 11 boasts a comprehensive list of bug corrections, with a strong emphasis on game balance adjustments. Some of these modifications are based on insightful community recommendations and, in certain instances, even revert changes made in the immediately preceding Patch 10.
As the game approaches its 1.0 release, Supergiant is diligently focused on integrating the authentic game conclusion. As a result, any Zodiac Sand or Void Lens items accumulated will transform into Prestige points. Despite the seemingly decisive nature of this recent patch, the developers remain tight-lipped on when gamers can expect the early access tag to be removed.
What is known is that the complete release is slated for this year, and the community senses that day is approaching rapidly. Furthermore, the 1.0 release promises to deliver the game to Nintendo Switch and the Switch 2, granting Nintendo console users exclusive access beyond PC. This arrangement, however, is expected to be a temporary timed exclusive, suggesting Hades 2 will find its way to other consoles down the road.
