Algorand Foundation, in collaboration with Bolt’s World’s Largest Hackathon, has declared the winner of their dedicated blockchain challenge. Algorand acted as the exclusive blockchain platform partner for this major hackathon. The challenge invited developers to innovate and construct applications on the Algorand network. The key focus was harnessing blockchain’s potential to provide trustworthy payment systems, verifiable data solutions, user-controlled digital identities, and adaptable digital assets – all while maintaining speed, simplicity, and worldwide accessibility.

Participants in the blockchain-focused segment had access to Algorand’s top-tier developer resources. These tools streamlined the transition for Web2 developers venturing into the Web3 space, offering easy access to Algorand’s robust network. This network provides almost instant transaction confirmation, consistently high operational capacity, and minimal transaction fees. The hackathon featured a total prize pool of $1 million, with Startsnap.fun securing $25,000 as the top winner of the blockchain challenge. Startsnap.fun is a platform designed for developers who build their projects openly and collaboratively. It enables them to share their works-in-progress with the community to gain feedback and receive support. Hackathon participants are encouraged to leverage Startsnap.fun to continue developing their projects and engage with the Algorand community by sharing their ongoing advancements.

The Algorand Foundation, together with its panel of judges, recognized five additional outstanding projects developed on the Algorand platform. These projects will receive both AWS credits and bridge services provided by Algorand. The noteworthy projects include: Algopay, Storyloom, RandCash.app, BioPay, and Fart NFT Maker.

“Algorand is dedicated to championing developers throughout their entire journey in the blockchain space. We take pride in offering resources that allow developers to easily begin building on the Algorand blockchain, taking advantage of our platform’s instantaneous transaction finality, substantial throughput, and economical fees. Algorand is engineered with enterprise-grade capabilities and is fully prepared to support any builder aspiring to make the transition to Web3,” stated Brian Whippo, Head of Developer Relations at the Algorand Foundation.

The Algorand Foundation is eager to assist these promising projects in their Mainnet launch, helping them mature into sustainable and thriving businesses. The Foundation offers a variety of programs to support early-stage ventures, including Web3 Masterclasses, startup challenges, and the Algorand Accelerator program.
