Simultaneously, governance is transitioning entirely on-chain: a newly elected “xGov Council” will evaluate grant applications, with real-time voting by block proposers commencing in Q3 2025. Furthermore, the network has already reduced the Foundation’s stake from 63 percent to 21 percent and doubled the number of active validators.   • For Developers: AlgoKit 4.0, arriving in the first half of 2026, will incorporate composable smart-contract libraries, a built-in key-value store named “Schema,” new SDKs for Rust, Swift, and Kotlin, as well as native support for Python and TypeScript. It will even include LLM-training on Algorand data, enabling AI to assist as a “co-pilot.”
  • For Enterprises: Intermezzo, launching in Q3 2025, is a custodian service based on HashiCorp Vault and REST APIs. It simplifies asset custody and integration challenges, already powering WorldChess’s forthcoming on-chain loyalty program.
  • For Everyday Users: Rocca Wallet, previewed in Q4 2025 and open-sourced by mid-2026, is envisioned as a customizable, self-custody wallet with a user-friendly interface comparable to Web 2.0. Features include no seed phrases, fee abstraction, passkey logins, and support for decentralized identifiers (DIDs).

  • Tokenized Financial Products: Utilizing the ACTUS standard, Algorand will enable institutions to issue compliant debt and equity tokens. A Debt ASA MVP is scheduled for Q4 2025, blending the rigor of traditional finance with the agility of DeFi.
  • Agentic Commerce: As AI agents increasingly become the primary interfaces for commerce, Algorand’s toolkit – including X402, multi-currency payments, and agentic identity frameworks – facilitates transactions at machine speed.
