World Mobile, a blockchain-driven telecommunications innovator, is joining forces with Protelindo, Indonesia’s leading provider of digital infrastructure. The collaboration aims to launch a unique stratospheric platform, dramatically expanding connectivity on a global scale. Protelindo, known for its extensive network of communication towers and fiber optic infrastructure throughout Indonesia, will integrate World Mobile’s innovative technology to deliver communication services. This will particularly benefit remote and underserved populations, significantly boosting mobile network availability.
The project, dubbed World Mobile Stratospheric, revolves around the deployment of hydrogen-powered airships that float in the stratosphere. These high-altitude platforms, operating between 15 and 20 kilometers above ground, are designed to establish direct mobile phone connectivity using a blockchain-based infrastructure. This novel approach seeks to overcome the persistent connectivity hurdles in areas where traditional telecom solutions are either too expensive or too complex to implement.
Proven for Widespread Mobile Access
Real-world trials conducted in the UK, across Europe, and in the Middle East have validated the platform’s ability to handle up to 500,000 concurrent mobile connections. The technology promises to deliver enhanced bandwidth and reduced latency compared to traditional methods, while also drastically minimizing operational costs and environmental impact. World Mobile claims its system can reduce environmental footprint by as much as 99% versus conventional telecom strategies, aligning with growing sustainability efforts in the global tech and telecommunications sectors.
At the heart of the initiative is World Mobile’s proprietary token, WMTX, which facilitates network operations and transactions. According to CoinMarketCap data, WMTX is currently ranked in the 400s by market capitalization and is trading at roughly $0.15.
