Justin Sun, the creator of TRON

, has initiated legal proceedings against Bloomberg.
This action aims to prevent
the media giant from publishing detailed insights into his holdings in the cryptocurrency world.

According to Sun, the data he shared was explicitly for verifying his net worth during conversations regarding his
potential inclusion in Bloomberg’s prestigious Billionaires Index. He alleges that this information was provided
under the understanding it would remain confidential.

The lawsuit, filed on August
11
in a Delaware-based federal court, is seeking immediate and permanent injunctions against
the publication of a breakdown of his cryptocurrency assets. Sun contends that revealing such specifics could lead
to significant security vulnerabilities.

The core concern highlighted in the lawsuit is that publicizing the precise details of his digital asset
holdings could leave him vulnerable to targeted attacks by enabling malicious actors to pinpoint and track his
digital wallets.

The legal document recounts that Bloomberg initially approached Sun in February 2025. According to the claims, Muyao
Shen, a journalist, contacted Sun with the objective of including him in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a
ranking of the world’s 500 wealthiest individuals.

Despite his initial reservations about disclosing financial details due to the nature of digital assets, Sun ultimately
consented after receiving assurances that the shared information would be treated confidentially. His team
reportedly made it explicitly clear on several occasions that the data was private and for internal purposes
solely.

A major worry outlined in the lawsuit revolves around the potential for “address clustering,” a technique used to
connect public blockchain transactions to specific individuals. The legal filing warns that if Bloomberg releases
the exact amounts Sun possesses, it could substantially simplify the process for others to trace his wallets
and potentially target him for malicious activities.
