A new challenge has arrived to complicate your day! FromSoftware has unleashed a revamped Nightlord boss encounter in Elden Ring Nightreign. Prepare to face Libra, the demonic goat, in the Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast event.
The defining feature of this Everdark version is its unprecedented level of chaos in its mechanics, easily surpassing anything we’ve seen in a Soulsborne boss battle. My friends and I were hyped, and it truly lived up to it!
To help you conquer this challenge, or at least survive, I’m offering a detailed guide on defeating the Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast in Elden Ring Nightreign. From understanding its attacks to mastering the winning strategy, it’s all here.
Recommended Team Composition
Team selection is vital. The Everdark Libra’s unique challenge lies in its ability to summon “Condemned” versions of your own characters with personalized, surprising builds. There’s also a rare chance it’ll summon unique Nightfarers.
The team composition I suggest revolves around a trio, though I’ll also highlight characters suitable for Duos or Solo play. I’ll also detail what their condemned variants can do, so you can make better choices.
- Guardian: Guardian mains, with their revive capabilities, will be essential. The fight’s frenetic pace results in frequent downs, making Guardian’s Wings of Salvation a game-changer. Though their condemned version can be challenging, the sheer number of revives makes the Guardian a worthwhile choice.
- Revenant: One of my friends, a former Wylder player, switched to Revenant on our sixth run because of its agility. Condemned Wylders had become too big of a hurdle. The Revenant excels with faith-based incantations from afar. Watch out for the low health, however.
- Raider: For solo or duo runs, the Raider stands out. Even in trios, their character skill (with the right relic setup) allows you to withstand Libra’s most powerful attacks while simultaneously buffing. Strength-based weapons create staggering opportunities.
- Ironeye: An alternative option for the fight. Though seemingly weak due to low HP and damage, Ironeye’s Weakening Mark and I-frames from both that ability and the Ultimate Art can be lifesavers here. He’s the character I used to prevent Condemned Raiders from tearing apart my teammates.
Key Differences With Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast
Let’s dive into the mechanics. The core element to note is that Everdark Sovereign Libra can summon Condemned Nightfarers during the fight.
These are corrupted forms of characters. The number of players directly affects how many Condemned Nightfarers appear at a given time, leading to some intense chaos in trios.
Everdark Libra will also inflict varied debuffs, some relating to “deals” that are announced through callouts, and detailed below.
- A Demon Summons the Condemned: This is what I mentioned above. Everdark Libra will summon hostile Nightfarers, each with unique builds. Picture a Wylder with a greatbow that can instantly down you, or an Ironeye wielding a Jar Cannon from afar.
- A Demon Offers a Challenge: This status effect halves every character’s HP for half a minute. It is reported that this only happens once Libra is below 50% HP.
- A Demon Shrouds All Allies: This makes you and allies invisible to each other for 30 seconds. Sometimes, this can apply to Condemned Nightfarers.
- A Demon Offers a False Blessing: Receive infinite Crimson Tear Flask charges for 30 seconds, at the cost of losing a level each time you use them.
- A Demon Incites a Riot: Spawns a second group of Condemned Nightfarers who will fight each other, and even Libra.
- A Demon Reveals an Inescapable Eye: Like “Power of a Demon,” but lacking the power-up. Lasts 30 seconds.
- A Demon Preaches Madness: Applies Madness to all, the team and Condemned. This can be strategically used to trigger Libra’s enraged state.
As we move on, keep in mind the Riot and Madness Preach debuffs, as they are the basis for much of our strategy.
How To Prepare For Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast
Unlike the Everdark Caligo guide, which recommended getting the Mountaintop Favor and Frost Resistances, the needs for Everdark Libra are more flexible and obvious.
Firstly, madness armaments are beneficial. Vyke’s Spear and the Frenzied Flame Seal’s Flame of Frenzy incantation are valuable pickups.
If you happen to find Madness Boluses, use them, as their effects persist throughout the expedition and stack.
Lastly, my teammates and I found Noklateo’s favor, from any Shifting Earth Event, to be essential. It provides auto-revives and boosts HP and stamina.
Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast Moveset
Most of Everdark Libra’s move-set remains the same, with a few magic attacks altered.
As with previous guides, I won’t cover base Libra. We’re quickly jumping to the Everdark Sovereign phase.
|
Moveset |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Phase Transition Stance |
Libra’s Everdark transformation starts at around 25% HP. Avoid the proximity of the sigils as they will summon the Condemned with Madness buildup. |
|
Enhanced Madness Rays |
As described in the original guide, this is a remix of the crystal attack, but the rays now rotate. Be sure to dodge and evade. |
|
Enhanced Madness Circles |
The ground eruption attacks that can one-shot characters such as Ironeye. They will now spawn randomly, even during the normal version of the attack. |
|
Quadrant Segments |
This novel attack divides the area into four segments with invisible walls, trapping players for a bit. Touching walls will damage you with Libra’s scales. Stay where you are! |
|
Enraged Rampage |
Like its phase two form, Libra will slam the ground before triggering Madness Rain. Use this time to deal damage. |
|
Teleportation |
Like the original move, Libra can use the Madness Circles to teleport around the area, even right on top of you. |
How To Beat Everdark Sovereign Equilibrious Beast
First Phase
Take care of Libra’s original variant first. Resist the temptation to waste healing flasks. Save them for the Everdark phase.
As soon as the fight begins, inflict Madness on Libra. This will trigger Libra’s enraged form.
This will allow you to do a lot of damage and even stagger him before the Everdark form takes over.
Be wary of melee attacks with the staff. Do not get too greedy, especially to the detriment of your teammates.
Second Phase
The strategy is all about survivability.
This fight is hectic in both trios and duos, especially if you ignore the Condemned Nightfarers, particularly the ranged attackers.
Condemned Nightfarers drop glowing orbs that buff your damage and HP.
Team composition is crucial here. If you’ve got two Wylders, prepare for a barrage of arrows. Try to experiment to see which characters you can handle as Condemned versions.
