Having traversed the sun-baked expanses of the Veiled Sea, refreshing yourself with the water there, your next destination is the captivating Lost Grotto.

This stunning area is replete with secret nooks, nautical-themed decorations featuring dolphins, and ample opportunities for performing amazing aerial tricks and stringing together impressive combos.

While executing tricks is relatively straightforward, uncovering the hidden shells scattered throughout this region presents a genuine challenge. Fortunately, this guide will assist you in swiftly completing this collection task, enabling you to progress to the subsequent set in the Shadow Tundra.

Important note: Subsequent to our compilation of these collectible location guides, the developer, Giant Squid, informed us of their intention to adjust the placement of these items in the final game update. This information was not provided in any pre-release documentation. We operate under the assumption that a majority of the shell locations remain consistent with those detailed below. However, minor inaccuracies may exist despite our efforts. Should a day-one patch necessitate amendments, we will strive to update the guide accordingly.

Shell #1

Upon reaching the initial puzzle segment, which involves solving two bubble puzzles, locate the small opening in the structure directly below the upper bubble puzzle mechanism. Descend into this gap to find a shell concealed within.

Shell #2

This shell is cleverly hidden. When you arrive at the area where a mysterious figure stands across a chasm, with stairs positioned to your left, leap into the chasm on your right. A secret area awaits at the bottom, containing a shell and a pipe that will allow you to return to the top.

Shell #3

You will soon venture through a dense section of the Grotto, where you’ll discover a Stele Message providing insights into the Lost Grotto.

Here, seek out a lower walkway situated beneath the rooftops you’ll be traversing. Drop down to this walkway, and you’ll find a shell located nearby.

Shell #4

Next, in the area where you must activate four fountains to unlock a doorway and gain access to the trick attack zone.

Navigate across the rooftops and towers until you notice a secret alcove situated down below. It’s easily identifiable by the low-flying jellyfish. Inside, you’ll discover another shell.

Shell #5

The next shell appears only after you ascend to the Grotto’s summit. Upon reaching the top, in the area containing the large dolphin statue where you restore the chain’s functionality, proceed behind the statue and climb to the top of the dolphin’s head to claim another shell.

Shell #6

As you retrace your steps toward the exit door, you’ll find several shells, with the seaweed and chain facilitating your journey.

The first shell you’ll likely encounter is located on the long waterway, visible from the point where you activated the chain. Travel to the far end of this waterway and look down. You should spot a small awning below, with a shell resting atop it.

Shell #7

Continue back along the chain until you reach a building featuring a square opening at the top. Take your time to carefully inspect the various nooks and crannies on this rooftop. Within a small archway, you’ll uncover another hidden shell.

Shell #8

Shortly before arriving back at the bubble puzzle area, dismount from the chain and proceed to the left. Here, you’ll find a trail of seaweed that leads you up a cliff. Follow this path to discover a secluded shell.

Shell #9

Not far ahead, you’ll encounter the wall riding area that marked the start of this chapter. Thanks to the addition of seaweed, you can now access a sandy path above. Follow this path to a cave, where you’ll find yet another shell.

Shell #10

Located just beyond the smaller wall ride within the puzzle area – the one that granted access to the higher bubble puzzle mechanism for clarity. There is a small, concealed archway which holds a shell for safekeeping. This is nearby the NPC who collects your money, if that helps you locate it.

Shell #11

Lastly, for the Lost Grotto, we have an eleventh very slyly hidden shell. This final collectible is situated close to the exit doorway, so make your way toward it as if you were preparing to conclude the level. However, instead, head to the right of the door and make consecutive small jumps to avoid the blue crystals. If you continue to platform along this concealed route far enough, you’ll discover your last shell.
