The highly anticipated culmination of the Go Fest 2025 storyline in Pokémon Go, the “Max Finale” event, is scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th. Trainers can participate from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM local time.

A core component of the event revolves around engaging in battles with Eternatus. Victories will award players with candy to strengthen this powerful Pokémon. The event is centered around Max Battles, offering various enhancements. Expect increased activity and faster refresh rates for Power Spots. Furthermore, trainers can collect up to 3,200 Max Particles each day, a significant increase from the usual 1,500. As an added bonus, double candy and candy XL rewards will be given for catching Pokémon during the event.

The Go Pass: Max Finale grants special perks to those who reach ranks 20, 40, and 89. These include additional Max Particles from Power Spots, improvements to Zacian and Zamazenta’s signature moves (Behemoth Blade and Behemoth Bash), a higher chance of finding wild Pokémon near Power Spots, and more rewards from Pokémon stationed at Power Spots.

To acquire Eternatus, progressing through the Go Pass: Max Finale battle pass is required. This should be easily achievable due to the removal of the daily points limit. Engaging in raids and battles within Power Spots will quickly earn you points to level up. Defeating Eternatus will yield 100 points, equivalent to 10 levels, during the event. Starting from rank one, only six Eternatus victories are needed to obtain your own Legendary poison-type dragon. Note: You will not catch Eternatus after defeating it in a Power Spot.
