Thinking about diving back into Stardew Valley? It’s a classic urge! However, recent news from Eric Barone, the creative mind behind the beloved farming simulation (known as ConcernedApe online), suggests a potential update on the horizon: version 1.7. You might want to hold off on that new farm for a little while.

Barone took to X, the social media platform, to share an image with the simple message: “There will be a Stardew Valley 1.7 update,” followed by his username. While exciting, he also tempered expectations, clarifying in the same post that there’s currently no projected release date for the update.

In response to questions regarding the update’s potential impact on the development of his upcoming project, Haunted Chocolatier – where players craft and sell delectable chocolates to spectral customers – Barone reassured fans that this new update is not intended to impede the progress of his future game.

The previous major update, 1.6, brought a substantial wave of enhancements to Stardew Valley. Beyond the usual bug fixes and item tweaks, players experienced fresh festivals and engaging events, such as the Squid Festival and the Trout Derby. A significant addition was the mastery system, allowing for even deeper skill progression. And for those who can never have enough animal companions, update 1.6 introduced the possibility of adopting even more pets, including the delightful addition of turtles!

The world map is so much easier to use now!
