A significant development in the Ethereum network shows increasing confidence in staking. The amount of Ethereum being prepared for staking has exceeded the quantity queued for withdrawal, a situation not observed since July, indicating a notable change in network dynamics.

Insights gleaned from the Ethereum Validator Queue data reveal that as of September 4th, the queue for staking entry reached 833,141 ETH, valued at approximately $3.7 billion. This figure has surpassed the 819,757 ETH, approximately $3.6 billion, currently waiting to be unstaked from staking pools.

Significantly, this is the first occurrence since July 22nd where the demand to enter staking has exceeded the outflow of ETH from staking platforms. According to a statement from staking service provider Everstake, these entry queues represent the largest such queues observed since 2023, a period marked by the Shanghai upgrade which enabled the withdrawal of staked ETH.

The increase in staking demand means that new ETH stakers may experience a waiting period of about 15 days before their assets are actively staking on the blockchain.

Despite this dynamic, the overall staked ETH supply is projected to remain relatively stable, hovering above 36 million ETH, as the volumes of ETH entering and exiting staking are nearly equivalent.
