It might feel like ages ago, but back in April, gamers last had the chance to experience Arc Raiders, the intense extraction-based shooter crafted by Embark Studios, a team featuring developers formerly with DICE. The second technical trial for the game took place in April, accessible only to invited players for a limited period.

The test proved incredibly successful, with virtually all participants expressing a strong desire for more. Many anticipated either a final test weekend or a wider beta release in the weeks that followed. However, neither of these materialized.

Instead, there was a significant period of silence, punctuated briefly by the announcement of the game’s launch date. Embark then went silent once more. However, the studio has now announced a final opportunity to play the game before its official release on October 30th.

Arc Raiders is hosting a “server slam,” a time-limited event from October 17th to 19th. This trial is open to everyone on all supported platforms and conveniently falls on a weekend to maximize player participation. Pre-orders for the game are also now live on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox consoles.

The primary goal of the server slam is to evaluate the game’s server infrastructure and network performance prior to launch. Players will be able to explore the Dam Battlegrounds, a map that was also featured in the previous technical test.

Embark has stated that some limited progression elements and early crafting features will be available during the server slam. Players can also undertake quests, although these are not expected to be extensive at this stage. It is important to note that any progress made during the server slam will not transfer to the final, released version of the game.

However, participants will receive an exclusive backpack in the full game (assuming they purchase it) as a token of their involvement in the server slam.

Arc Raiders is a PvPvE extraction shooter developed by the same team behind The Finals. It will retail for $40 ($60 for the Deluxe edition) and will launch on October 30th for PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, featuring cross-play compatibility.
