Since the PlayStation 3 era, dedicated gamers have enjoyed collecting Trophies in PlayStation games by completing various objectives and conquering challenges. However, the opportunity to showcase these achievements beyond the digital realm has been limited. Now, PlayStation introduces Franchise Rewards, a novel program designed to translate those virtual accomplishments into tangible, physical “rewards” for dedicated players.
Launching today with the acclaimed title Ghost of Tsushima, this innovative program offers exclusive merchandise for players who secure specific trophies before December 31st. Those who have earned the coveted “Mono no Aware” gold trophy are eligible to preorder a unique t-shirt for $30. Similarly, players who have achieved the ultimate feat of unlocking the “Living Legend” platinum trophy can preorder a special pin for $25.
A more detailed explanation of these exclusive items can be found in a recent PlayStation Blog post. The blog highlights the collaborative effort with Sucker Punch Productions, ensuring that each item embodies the authentic spirit and artistic vision of the game. Furthermore, it announces that Ghost of Yotei will be integrated into the Franchise Rewards program later this year, with specific merchandise details to be revealed closer to the game’s launch.
While Franchise Rewards represents a fresh approach for PlayStation and Ghost of Tsushima enthusiasts, the concept of earning physical goods through in-game accomplishments isn’t entirely new. Destiny 2, for instance, previously offered players the chance to purchase exclusive clothing and other items upon successful completion of newly introduced raids.
The Ghost Rewards program for Ghost of Tsushima is live now. The highly anticipated sequel from Sucker Punch Studios, Ghost of Yotei, is scheduled for release on October 2nd, exclusively on the PlayStation 5 console.
