OpenAI is enhancing ChatGPT with a new capability that
enables US-based users to purchase products from Etsy and
Shopify directly through the chat interface.
This functionality, dubbed
Instant Checkout, is available to all ChatGPT users who are logged in, spanning across
Free, Plus, and Pro subscription levels.
Initially, Instant Checkout facilitates purchases from US-based Etsy
sellers. OpenAI intends to broaden access to encompass over
one million Shopify merchants shortly. Popular brands like Glossier,
Skims, Vuori, and Spanx are anticipated to be included in this expansion.

How to Avoid Major Crypto Investment Risks?
(Beginner-Friendly)
In the past, ChatGPT assisted users in exploring shopping options by
presenting price details, product images, reviews, and links to various
online stores. Now, users have the ability to
handle the complete transaction,
from product discovery to payment completion, all within
the chat interface.
Once a purchase is confirmed, users can select from various payment methods,
including Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe, or a standard credit card.
OpenAI also announced plans to release the core technology
powering Instant Checkout, known as the
Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP).
ACP, developed using Stripe, will be released as open-source, enabling
other businesses and developers to incorporate this type of streamlined
shopping experience into their own platforms and applications.
Will Gaybrick, President of Technology and Business at Stripe, emphasized
that “Stripe is building the economic infrastructure for AI,” a vision that
involves re-evaluating the mechanics of digital commerce to support
AI-driven interactions.
On September 25, OpenAI introduced a new ChatGPT feature, named Pulse.
