After a six-year hiatus since its second installment, the much-anticipated third season of One-Punch Man is set to dominate screens across various platforms. According to a report from Variety, viewers worldwide can tune in starting October 12th for the return of this celebrated superhero satire.
This season’s narrative plunges headfirst into an epic showdown, pitting the Hero Association against the formidable Monster Association. In the United States, Hulu will be the primary destination for viewing. With Hulu slated to integrate into Disney Plus next year, the latter will become the exclusive Canadian carrier of the show. For fans located in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania, Crunchyroll secures the rights. Netflix will also broadcast the series in Oceania and Latin America. Such widespread availability resembles the reach of the powerful protagonist himself.
Viz Media is orchestrating this expansive global launch. They were also responsible for the series’ initial US premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami in 2016, followed by the season two debut on Cartoon Network in 2019. As a perennially best-selling manga, expectations are high for One-Punch Man season 3, especially given the extended break and the mixed reception of season two, which was handled by J.C. Staff, who took over production responsibilities from Madhouse.
With J.C. Staff returning to animate season 3, viewers will have a sharper focus than before. The plot features an action-packed narrative arc, where Saitama clashes with the hero hunter Garou, and the S-Class heroes confront the formidable Monster Association Executives.
