JAKARTA, Indonesia – The leading digital currency, Bitcoin, has achieved a new high, reaching US$126,000, equivalent to approximately Rp2.1 billion per unit. This surge signifies a landmark moment for both the international and Indonesian cryptocurrency markets.

Local cryptocurrency experts in Indonesia view this price increase as a major accomplishment. They believe it solidifies Bitcoin’s position as a reliable store of value, particularly during the current period of global economic instability.

According to Antony Kusuma, Vice President of Indodax, this unprecedented price demonstrates not only substantial investor excitement but also the increasing acceptance of Bitcoin within the global financial landscape.

“The rise to US$126,000 strongly suggests that Bitcoin has evolved significantly. It is now viewed not only as a speculative investment but also as an integral component of diversification strategies adopted by significant financial organizations globally,” explained Antony in Jakarta on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Market analysis reveals that Bitcoin briefly touched US$126,080 before settling around US$124,700, highlighting its robust stability despite increased market turbulence.

Other prominent cryptocurrencies also experienced gains. Ethereum’s value rose to US$4,600, and XRP increased to US$2.9. Antony pointed out that these advancements indicate a resurgence of investor trust in major cryptocurrencies after several months of market correction.

In Indonesia, trading activity has significantly increased alongside Bitcoin’s price rally. Over the past week, Indodax reported a 50 percent increase in trading volumes compared to the previous week.

Antony further stated that in the 24-hour period coinciding with Bitcoin’s record peak, trading volume on Indodax reached Rp1 trillion.

“This signifies a growing confidence among Indonesians in cryptocurrency investments. They are increasingly viewing them as essential components of their long-term financial planning,” he concluded.
