On October 23rd, digital asset security firm, Ledger, hosted its “Ledger Op3n” event at their Paris headquarters, extending invitations to partners, community members, and BitDegree. The event focused on showcasing advancements in crypto security and new product innovations.

Ledger, a well-known global leader in safeguarding digital assets through its hardware wallets, also invests heavily in security research. This commitment is demonstrated by their dedicated in-house team called the Ledger Donjon.

Op3n offered attendees a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into the work of the Donjon team.

The Donjon team comprises security researchers and specialists in cryptography, software, and hardware security. They work to identify and resolve vulnerabilities in Ledger’s products before malicious actors can exploit them.

The Donjon focuses on several types of security assessments. These include identifying and mitigating unauthorized digital asset access via software attacks, analyzing physical device vulnerabilities through side-channel attacks, and purposely inducing circuit failures through fault attacks to discover weaknesses.

Through these strategies, the team elevates the overall security of Ledger’s offerings and keeps the company ahead of emerging threats.
