Bitcoin, recognized as the premier digital currency, continues its upward trend. Meanwhile, altcoins have also gained ground, benefiting from a renewed optimism boosted by the SEC’s regulatory changes.

As of 10:51 PM on September 18, Bitcoin was listed at $80,450 on Binance, marking a 5% rise since the previous day.

Altcoins exhibited even greater percentage increases. Data from CoinMarketCap shows that Near Protocol (NEAR) surged by 31.11%. During the same timeframe, Arbitrum (ARB) rose by 29.84%, Uniswap (UNI) posted a gain of 25.12%, and Aptos (APT) advanced by 20.76%.

Ether.fi (ETHFI) increased by 18.26%, while Jupiter (JUP) and Injective (INJ) saw gains of 17.40% and 17.29%, respectively.

The altcoin surge is indicative of growing investor confidence as the SEC has reinforced its commitment to revamping digital asset regulations.

On September 17, the SEC unveiled an “innovation exemption” strategy to allow tokenized stock trading for the next five years. This announcement has heightened expectations that the expansion of tokenized stock trading will lead to increased utilization of the associated blockchain infrastructure.
