The U.S. Senate is taking significant steps towards voting on the crypto Digital Assets Market Clarity Act. Over the weekend, Senate leadership initiated formal discussions on this important legislation related to the structure of the crypto market, marking a notable milestone in the sector’s primary policy initiative.

Despite this encouraging progress, which followed an extensive overnight voting period, the bill has missed its chance for a vote before the Senate’s summer recess. This situation places the measure in a precarious position for potential approval in September. Although the Clarity Act’s future appears uncertain, without this crucial initial step, it would likely have been sidelined until at least 2026.

“We, the undersigned senators… hereby request to conclude the debate on the motion to proceed with calendar number 423, [House Resolution] 3633, which aims to establish a regulatory framework for the offer and sale of digital commodities by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, among other objectives,” the clerk announced while reading the motion.
