Tesla, the electric vehicle company, has recently updated its payment policy regarding Dogecoin ($DOGE). The phrase “Note: Dogecoin is also accepted for select products” has been removed from the primary payment and pricing support section on the Tesla Shop website.
However, it’s worth noting that some of Tesla’s non-English and localized support pages still include this information. For instance, the payment sections for the Tesla Shop in countries like Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, and Denmark continue to indicate that Dogecoin is accepted for specific products.
In contrast, Tesla’s specific Dogecoin support page is still operational. This page clarifies that customers can buy eligible Tesla products marked with the Dogecoin logo using $DOGE, and it lists Dogecoin as the sole cryptocurrency accepted for transactions.
Currently, Tesla has not issued an official statement suggesting that the option to use $DOGE for certain products has been entirely eliminated. It’s notable that in the past, CEO Elon Musk announced a halt on Bitcoin payments due to environmental issues.
