Buterin’s proposal highlights the importance of zero-knowledge proofs, the generation of blocks by multiple participants, an easier proof-of-stake consensus, formal verification processes, and protection against quantum threats. Additionally, it seeks to enhance privacy regarding payment transactions and wallet activities.

The Hegotá update, which is scheduled for next year, is expected to be the final “standard” upgrade for Ethereum based on its existing technological framework. Following this update, the network’s primary focus will shift to areas such as cryptographic validation, improved scalability, and enhanced privacy measures.
