“Our main focus now is to execute the new operating model and ensure our customers are clearly updated on upcoming developments,” stated Moritz Eckert, the CEO of Bitcoin Group SE.

Bitcoin.de, a crypto trading platform based in Germany, is managed by futurum bank AG, a division of Bitcoin Group SE. The platform boasts more than 1.1 million registered users, as reported by the company. Initially, it functioned as a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of cryptocurrency.

This year, the platform underwent a significant transformation to adopt a brokerage model, with plans to offer over 100 different cryptocurrencies, as well as features like crypto swaps and staking, anticipated to launch by late June.

Nonetheless, the launch was delayed as futurum bank awaited authorization under MiCA regulations. In an update released in August, bitcoin.de announced that customers’ cryptocurrency holdings had already been transitioned to a new custody setup, and the old trading system was deactivated. As a result, trading activities have been mostly paused since June 12.
