WASHINGTON (TNND) — Patrick Witt, who served as a primary cryptocurrency advisor under President Donald Trump, has announced his exit from the administration this week.
In a detailed message shared on X on Wednesday, Witt expressed that his time in the administration was a remarkable honor.
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to @POTUS for allowing me the chance to serve the American people during your second term,” Witt wrote. “Your unwavering vision to maintain the United States as the leading global superpower during this unique era of technological evolution and geopolitical challenges is vital for our nation’s ongoing success.”
Witt played a significant role in advancing the CLARITY Act, a proposed federal legislation aimed at establishing a framework for the cryptocurrency industry.
A representative from the White House indicated that despite Witt’s departure, the CLARITY Act remains a key priority for Trump, as reported by The Hill.
In his announcement, Witt acknowledged several senators who played a role in facilitating the progress of the CLARITY Act.
“With dedicated regulators and elected officials like you, I confidently look towards a vibrant future for digital asset innovation in America,” he stated.
Witt also indicated that he will be disclosing his future endeavors shortly.
“As for what’s next, I’ll have more updates soon,” the message concluded. “For now, I can say this: I am incredibly optimistic about America as we enter a new era of technological progress across multiple domains. I’m thankful for the opportunity to foster American innovation during my time in government, and I look forward to continuing that mission in the private sector!”
