He expressed optimism about several cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), BNB, $XRP, $SOL, HYPE, $ZEC, SIGN, and various stablecoins.
This statement followed an unexpected challenge for Solana as its initiative to grow its presence in Shanghai encountered difficulties, with speculation suggesting that previous remarks by CZ may have contributed to this issue.
CZ Addresses Solana Situation in China
Earlier this week, Solana attracted attention when it announced the opening of a new office in Shanghai, paired with a significant marketing push in the area.
CZ initially welcomed this news, suggesting that Solana’s visibility and marketing efforts in Shanghai could open doors for additional blockchain initiatives.
He also suggested that such developments might indicate a potential easing of China’s stance on cryptocurrency regulations.
However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Solana’s scheduled event at the Shangri-La Hotel was postponed on October 16.
Reports indicated that attendees encountered law enforcement during the event, though the organizers claimed it was postponed due to logistical challenges. Lily Liu, President of the Solana Foundation, later noted that there had been a sudden fourfold increase in registrations, surpassing the number they had reported to local authorities.
This situation stirred speculation on social media that CZ’s prior comments about Solana’s expansion might have drawn scrutiny from Chinese officials.
CZ, however, refuted these allegations, stating that the Solana advertisement displayed on a building in Shanghai was reportedly removed within just 10 minutes.
He emphasized that his post on X couldn’t have triggered the removal, as he was only made aware of the ad 12 to 24 hours after it had been put up.
