He expressed gratitude to co-manager Fabio Marzella, Hugo Philion, one of the founders of Flare Networks, and the entire Flare team for their work on the Flare Smart Accounts technology, as well as to Firelight for the opportunity provided.
This initiative links $XRP to Firelight via Flare Smart Accounts, allowing $XRP holders to access DeFi applications. In a post dated October 6, Flare characterized Firelight as a method to secure $XRP with an added layer of protection for DeFi utilizing a single XRPL signature.
On the same day, Firelight announced that users looking to deploy $XRP through this feature should connect a supported XRPL wallet and opt to mint and store FXRP in the Firelight vault, adding, “We’re very optimistic about this.”
At the time of writing, $XRP was trading at $1.34, remaining relatively stable over the past 24 hours. However, it had experienced a decline of nearly 4% in the last week and more than 11% over the month. Currently, it sits over 44% lower than its price a year ago, representing a significant 63% decrease from its all-time high of $3.65 reached in July 2025.

Governance Improvements Aim to Enhance Community Involvement
The treasury vote is part of a broader initiative to enhance participation among XAO DAO members in decision-making processes. In an update from October 22, the organization revealed that several proposals had been approved recently, along with the launch of a community forum.
Marzella highlighted improvements to the governance application, which includes better proposal management, tools for discussion, tracking of donations in $XRP and RLUSD, support for multiple languages, and searchable records.
As reported by CryptoPotato in August, XAO DAO was outlining governance modifications that encompassed wallet delegation, updated quorum rules, and community mini-grants. The delegation feature would enable members to entrust their voting rights to others, while the revised quorum regulations aimed to mitigate the influence of inactive wallets on proposals.
The central issue was how to convert community engagement and funding into sustained action across the $XRP Ledger ecosystem. This concern surfaced following an announcement from the XRPL infrastructure team Gen3 on August 12 regarding the winding down of its retail products, Aigent.run and AxiomProtocol, due to insufficient demand and escalating infrastructure costs.
