Forecast Trend Report by Period

Wealthy investors in Bitcoin are increasingly accessing collateralized loans and interest-earning products instead of selling off their assets, according to a report from CoinDesk on October 24.
Seamus Rocca, the CEO of Xapo Bank, informed CoinDesk that clients prefer to retain their Bitcoin while seeking cash flow, either by investing part of their assets in yield-generating products or earning interest on Bitcoin-denominated dollar deposits to acquire more of the cryptocurrency.
“The primary themes in this market cycle are yield, accumulation, and income generation,” Rocca remarked. There is particularly high demand for products aimed at accumulation and yield among funds and family offices. Unlike five or six years ago when Bitcoin was primarily seen as a speculative asset, clients now seek financial services related to their current holdings.
Xapo Bank categorizes its clientele into two segments. Some early investors capitalized on profits when Bitcoin peaked, while those who invested around 2018 and 2019 are more inclined to hold their Bitcoin and borrow against it for liquidity needs. Among clients who have already realized gains, many are depositing funds in dollar accounts and collecting interest in Bitcoin, effectively increasing their holdings over time. Roughly 45% of Xapo Bank’s clients utilize this feature, Rocca noted.
Currently, Xapo Bank offers a flexible base interest rate of 4.1% annually for dollar deposits in Bitcoin, with a special promotional rate of 4.6% for new clients for a limited period. Additionally, its Bitcoin credit fund aims for annual returns up to 4% through lending.
Rocca mentioned that large banking institutions often proceed cautiously, as new product launches require committee approval and staff may be hesitant to engage in what they perceive as risky initiatives. This creates opportunities for companies such as Xapo Bank.
Looking forward, Rocca believes Bitcoin’s next growth phase will hinge on broader institutional asset allocations over the long term. Should geopolitical and regulatory uncertainties diminish, Bitcoin could potentially reach $250,000 within the next two to three years, he concluded.
