If XRP recovers to its all-time high, a $1,000 investment could grow to around $3,093, significantly higher than Bitcoin’s potential increase to $1,671, due to XRP being further from its peak.
Due to a smaller market capitalization, XRP experiences more volatile price shifts, having decreased by 46% over the last year, while Bitcoin has only gone down by 25%.
After October 21, Bitcoin ETFs experienced a shift from net inflows to outflows, whereas XRP ETFs recorded no net inflows for three consecutive days.

Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) and XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) have both experienced declines over the past month, affecting their potential to turn a $1,000 investment into a larger amount by 2030. Currently, Bitcoin is priced at $75,726, while XRP is at $1.19.
Bitcoin has seen a drop of 9.1% in the last month, sliding from a closing high of $84,082 on October 21 to $76,006 on November 5. XRP has experienced a sharper decline of 16.3%, closing at $1.21 recently.

As of November 6, a $1,000 investment would translate into either 0.0133 BTC at a price of $75,430 or 847.46 XRP priced at $1.18. Investors are increasingly interested in which cryptocurrency could yield greater returns by 2030. Given XRP’s more significant drop from its peak, it has the potential for a more substantial recovery.

The following table illustrates potential investment results for a $1,000 investment under various price points for 2030. Each row represents a comparative price scenario rather than a forecast.
When both cryptocurrencies undergo the same percentage change, their values will remain equal. Consequently, a 50% increase in each would elevate both investments to $1,500. Nevertheless, XRP exhibits a more favorable position, given that it currently trades 67.4% below its $3.65 all-time high from July 2025, while Bitcoin is 39.9% beneath its peak of $126,080 from October 2025.
Should both cryptocurrencies return to record highs, an investment in XRP could swell to $3,093.22, while Bitcoin would reach $1,671.48. Thus, the ongoing debate between Bitcoin and XRP largely depends on each coin’s recovery potential. Our Bitcoin price outlook for 2030 explores the feasibility of achieving higher Bitcoin targets.
How XRP’s Market Size Influences Its Performance

Market capitalization for cryptocurrencies is calculated by multiplying price with circulating supply. Bitcoin boasts a market cap of $1.52 trillion, making it the leading cryptocurrency, while XRP’s market cap is only $75.29 billion, ranking it fifth. Smaller market caps generally lead to more significant price fluctuations, potentially allowing XRP to recover more rapidly than Bitcoin if demand returns. Our insights into whether $1,000 in XRP could reach $10,000 by 2030 illustrate how hefty that climb would be.
Nonetheless, the volatility associated with XRP also brings inherent risks. Over the past year, XRP’s value has dropped by 46.2%, contrasting with Bitcoin’s 25.2% decrease. Over the previous five years, Bitcoin has appreciated by 19.4%, while XRP has decreased by 2.8%.
Moreover, supply growth poses challenges for XRP. Bitcoin has a predetermined halving schedule that reduces new issuance periodically, while XRP’s circulating supply continues increasing as Ripple releases tokens from its escrow.

Shift in Bitcoin ETF Inflows to Outflows
Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) affiliated with Bitcoin hold actual bitcoins and trade similarly to stocks. In October, these funds mirrored the price trend of Bitcoin. On October 21, they saw net inflows of $528.4 million, coinciding with Bitcoin’s peak of $84,082.
Nonetheless, this trend quickly reversed, with outflows totaling $643.3 million by October 30, followed by another $430.2 million on November 5. Consequently, cumulative net inflows decreased from $57.96 billion on October 21 to $56.11 billion by November 5.
Decrease in Demand for XRP ETFs
As of November 5, U.S. spot XRP ETFs had $1.41 billion in net assets and accumulated $1.81 billion in total inflows. However, interest has since waned. The funds experienced zero net inflows on November 3, 4, and 5, with their best day last month only bringing in $8.43 million on October 29. XRP is trading below its 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day moving averages, signaling diminished market interest.
Assessing Bitcoin and XRP’s Long-term Investment Viability Through 2030
Our assessment suggests XRP has greater potential for significant returns, but this would necessitate a much more substantial recovery, which appears unlikely given the current lack of demand for its ETFs. Although Bitcoin presents limited upside potential, it is closer to recovering. Bitcoin needs to reclaim its 50-day moving average of $82,003 and surpass its one-year closing high of $105,951 to approach $150,000 in value.
Conversely, XRP must regain its 50-day average of $1.38 as well as its one-year closing peak of $2.53 from November 10, 2025, to consider $3 a realistic target. Continued outflows from Bitcoin could severely impact both assets if it dips beneath its 200-day average of $73,197, which could threaten XRP’s warning sign set at $0.99 from August 2026.
