Exciting news for Honkai: Star Rail fans! The highly anticipated collaboration event with Fate/stay night has officially launched. This marks the first time the popular free-to-play RPG has teamed up with another franchise, welcoming elements from the visual novel series into its universe.
This crossover event arrives shortly after the release of version 3.4, an update that brought a wealth of new content to the game, extending beyond just the Fate/stay night inspired additions.
A preview of the collaboration was revealed back in June during a developer livestream, giving players a sneak peek at what to expect. The introduction of two new characters from Fate/stay night is undoubtedly a central highlight of this update.
The collaboration’s duration is substantial, offering players ample time to engage with the new content. While an official end date hasn’t been announced, speculation suggests it will run until at least November of this year.
Saber, a renowned character from Fate, joins Honkai: Star Rail as a 5-Star Wind/Destruction type character. Archer also enters the fray as a 5-Star Quantum/Hunt type. Notably, Archer is obtainable for free simply by logging in during the event period. However, acquiring Saber will require the usual in-game gacha mechanics. Archer also arrives with sufficient resources to elevate him to level 60.
The update also unveils four new event banners dedicated to Saber, Archer, and their signature Light Cones. Interestingly, the drop rates for 4-star characters or weapons remain unchanged on these banners. However, players are guaranteed to receive Saber’s Light Cone after performing 200 warps.
It’s worth pointing out that the Fate crossover characters currently lack English voice acting. This omission appears intentional, particularly given recent disputes between MiHoYo and US-based voice actors involved in the SAG-AFTRA video game strike.
Adding to the content, a new Trailblaze Continuance, titled “Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail,” is available. A limited-time combat challenge event is also underway, lasting for 30 days and concluding on August 11. Exclusive rewards are up for grabs until this date. Following the event’s conclusion, the core content will be integrated into the game’s Conventional Memoir, albeit with some of the rewards becoming unavailable.

Earlier in July, before the crossover, new, non-Fate characters also joined the fray. Phainon, previously an NPC, has become a playable character. She’s a 5-Star Physical/Destruction type.
The 3.4 update, released on July 2nd, also brought the first phase of character reruns, featuring Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle. The second phase, commencing on July 23, showcases the return of Firefly (sporting a new look), Jingliu, and Blade.
Enhancements to game mechanics related to Kafka, Silver Wolf, and Blade were also implemented in 3.4. The timing of Jingliu‘s rerun is also opportune, as her abilities received a boost alongside these characters.
