Recognize that sound? It’s Saturday morning, arriving with the comforting weight of a lazy weekend. Don’t let these precious hours slip away! Power up your computer and dive into some digital adventures. Here’s what the RPS team is planning to play this weekend!
Brendan
I’ve temporarily set aside my usual PC activities (and fictional scientific endeavors) to explore the haunting landscapes of Death Stranding 2 on PlayStation. I’m still early in my journey, but I’m looking forward to skipping more battles to focus on the pure joy of hitting that like button while ascending ladders.
Edwin
My weekend will be spent indoors, avoiding a major thunderstorm predicted for my area. I’ll also be immersed in readings about new materialism, due to upcoming thesis revisions. However, if I lose motivation, I might switch gears and play Transformice instead.
Graham
I’m likely diving into Donkey Kong Bananza. Initial thoughts: I’m amused by the suggestive “ooh, banana” sound effect that plays whenever you smash a banana gem.
James
I’ve fully returned to playing DayZ. While I don’t necessarily see games as a means of escaping reality – my current life is preferable to being unexpectedly murdered while eating beans in a dilapidated outhouse – there’s something grounding about spending hours alone in a vast, mostly empty environment.
Jeremy
I’m dividing my gaming time between Final Fantasy XII in the evenings and Gotham Knights as my “work break” game. Despite Ed and Liam’s (RIP) less-than-enthusiastic review, as a devoted fan of Batman comics, I’m enjoying it. The ability to play as Red Hood and roam Gotham, firing “non-lethal” bullets at enemies, is enough to satisfy me. And, dare I say, I’ve always slightly preferred Warner Bros Montreal’s interpretation of Batman over Rocksteady’s! (Arkham Origins secretly boasts the best story in the entire Batman game series!)
Mark
I’m once again spending my weekend driving virtual cars. I’ve reached a point where I’ve stopped trying to impress you all. However, I might also spend time with Rockbeasts, which I recently previewed. It’s significantly more engaging than simply steering a vehicle.
Nic
I’m slightly concerned about the increasingly grim and drab nature of my recent gaming choices. I’ve started playing Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, so I’ll be dedicating some time to that. I’m also working on a couple of unannounced reviews unrelated to Boltguns, and probably more Tall Trails. It’s such a delightful game.
Ollie
Ollie is currently unavailable, presumably suffering eternal damnation for forcing me to use MS Paint on a Friday.
That concludes our weekend gaming plans. If you’re looking for more inspiration, explore the online stores, but beware of the tempting introductory offers; the best experiences are often found with a little more searching.
So, dear reader, what games are you planning to play this weekend?…
