As previously indicated, Sony is ready to unveil a detailed look at Ghost of Yotei gameplay. This follows a prior update released about a month ago during the peak summer gaming event season.
That earlier glimpse provided a brief preview for the action RPG, promising further revelations later in July. With July’s first week behind us, the wait to witness more of the game is nearly over.
A dedicated State of Play livestream focused on Ghost of Yotei is coming this Thursday, July 10th. This in-depth gameplay presentation will last around 20 minutes, showcasing various elements of the game’s core systems and mechanics.
Hosted by Sucker Punch’s Jason Connell and Nate Fox, the game’s creative leads, the showcase will dive into the heart of the sequel’s storyline, Atsu’s journey, and her diverse arsenal. They also promise insights into “new ways to personalize your journey”.
The announcement suggests potential new modes for Ghost of Yotei, possibly hinting at an evolved iteration of the popular Legends co-op mode from the original title, Ghost of Tsushima. Alternatively, it could be something akin to the original’s Kurosawa mode, a stylistic feature that alters the game’s visuals to emulate classic samurai films by the legendary Japanese director.
Expect all this and more during what appears to be a comprehensive showcase. The stream will be live at 2pm PT, 5pm ET, 10pm BST, and 11pm CEST on the official PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels, both accessible below.
Ghost of Yotei launches on PS5 October 2.
