For dedicated gamers, achieving the perfect setup is a constant pursuit. It’s a delicate dance between creating an aesthetically pleasing space that reflects your passions and ensuring it’s a practical, durable, and adaptable battle station ready for any gaming scenario.
If you’re seeking gaming gear that flawlessly combines form and function, look no further. Secretlab consistently delivers expertly crafted, visually stunning, and highly customizable products that cater to the discerning gamer.
Their latest collaboration, the Genshin Impact-themed TITAN Evo chairs and Liyue Edition Magpad, is a prime example. As a former avid Genshin Impact player, the Liyue theme immediately evoked fond memories of countless hours spent exploring that region.
Naturally, I had to experience the chair and Magpad firsthand to see if they truly capture the essence of Liyue. Here’s my review of the Genshin Secretlab collection.
TITAN Evo Assembly
I won’t rehash the general construction of the TITAN Evo, as its core design and quality remain consistent regardless of the specific theme.
Suffice it to say, this chair, even after five years on the market, remains a leader in comfort, ease of assembly, and visual appeal.
Having owned a TITAN Evo for around four years, I can attest to its remarkable durability. Despite sharing my home with five cats, my original chair still looks brand new – a testament to its robust construction, unlike other chairs I’ve owned that fell victim to feline claws.
Reflecting on the assembly process, I was pleasantly reminded of how straightforward it is. You mentally prepare for an hour-long battle with countless screws, but the chair comes together surprisingly quickly.
The instructions are clear and easy to follow, allowing for solo assembly. TITAN Evo accessories, like the Recliner, seamlessly integrate. Even with my limited DIY skills, I had the chair assembled in under an hour, which is a definite plus.
Magpad Assembly/Replacement
While assembling the Ningguang TITAN Evo was a breeze, replacing my existing Magpad proved more challenging.
Firstly, due to my use of a Magnus Riser for my desk, I had to completely clear the desk and disconnect all monitors and accessories to access the Magpad secured beneath the C-clamps.
A minor inconvenience, but then I encountered a second issue: the hex key included with the TITAN Evo didn’t fit the hex screws for the Riser clamps, leaving me unable to release the Magpad.
After a frustrated search, I eventually found a set of Allen keys that worked. However, without them, I would have needed to gather additional tools – a surprising oversight for a premium product from Secretlab.
Once resolved, the Magpad easily rolled out and clicked into place on the desk, instantly adding a vibrant splash of color to my previously white surface.
However, like with my initial Magnus desk assembly, I struggled somewhat with the metal sliders used to attach the desk’s borders, as they didn’t slide into place as smoothly as expected.
I rarely criticize Secretlab products, but there’s definitely room for improvement in the Magpad replacement process.
The Ningguang TITAN Evo
Moving beyond the assembly, let’s discuss the Genshin collection, specifically the Ningguang-themed TITAN Evo. While the Xiao chair is also attractive, the Ningguang edition is, in my opinion, the standout piece.
The color palette perfectly embodies Liyue’s Tianquan, Ningguang, with earthy browns, creamy whites, and rich gold hues that add a touch of opulence to your gaming setup, mirroring the character’s refined aesthetic.
The chair’s embroidery and stitching showcase meticulous detail, featuring the Geo element symbol, regional flowers, Liyue’s mountainous clouds, and the prominent phoenix emblem on the back.
Every detail exudes elegance and luxury, as if the Liyue treasury was raided to create a chair worthy of Ningguang’s Jade Chamber throne.
My only minor critique is the absence of a Mora symbol, given its central role in Liyue’s economy and contracts. However, the design remains stunning and highly desirable for any Genshin Impact enthusiast.
The Liyue Edition Magpad
While I faced some challenges replacing my existing Magpad, the final result was worth the effort. The Liyue Edition Magpad is simply stunning.
It beautifully depicts Liyue in all its radiant glory, capturing the city’s elegance, beauty, and Asian-inspired design.
The scene showcases the Lantern Rite, a significant Liyue tradition mirroring the Chinese New Year and a beloved event within the Genshin Impact community.
Combining the Japanese ukiyo-e art style, Skybracer soaring through the sky, and the soft glow of a thousand lanterns, this Magpad rivals any other in the Secretlab collection.
The included cable management bundle, featuring gorgeous golden magnetic cable holders and modules, deserves a mention. It allows for seamless and subtle cable organization, ensuring everything stays perfectly in place.
Pricing
Finally, let’s address pricing, often the biggest factor in deciding whether to purchase a Secretlab product.
I consistently advise those who can afford it to view these products as an investment, as their quality and durability surpass most alternatives. You truly get what you pay for.
However, I understand this is a significant decision for many. Here’s a breakdown of the current US prices for the Genshin collection:
- Secretlab TITAN Evo Ningguang/Xiao – $664
- Secretlab Magpad Liyue Edition Standard/XL – $129/$139
- Secretlab Genshin Impact Cable Management Bundle – $69
10/10 – “Despite minor issues with the Magpad replacement, this was another excellent experience with a Secretlab product. The design and build quality are unmatched. The Genshin-inspired elements beautifully represent the region of Liyue and its characters. The complete setup is visually striking, and the attention to detail ensures any Genshin fan will find it well worth the investment. It’s another successful collaboration for Secretlab, and I eagerly anticipate their next creation.”
