Parag Agrawal, the former CEO of Twitter (now known as X), has launched a new venture, Parallel Web Systems Inc.
This new company focuses on developing systems that allow artificial intelligence (AI) to independently navigate the internet, collect information, and process it without constant human oversight.
The core of Parallel’s approach is its Deep Research API. In a LinkedIn update shared on August 15th, Agrawal stated that this technology outperforms both humans and leading-edge AI models, including OpenAI’s GPT-5, in specific research-related tasks.

According to Agrawal, Parallel is already processing millions of automated research requests daily. He mentioned that a publicly traded company utilizes the platform to enhance its operational efficiency, and developers leverage it for tasks like reviewing documentation and resolving software issues.
The startup has already secured investment. A Bloomberg news article reports that Parallel has obtained $30 million in funding and employs a staff of approximately 25 individuals.
Since departing Twitter in 2022, Agrawal dedicated his time to studying academic literature, coding, and considering various offers from companies seeking his leadership in revitalization efforts.
In his discussion with Bloomberg, Agrawal suggested that users could soon employ numerous AI agents to act on their behalf across the internet, predicting that this trend could gain momentum as early as next year.
