Anime Expo 2025, held annually in Los Angeles, has concluded its 34th gathering, billing itself as the biggest celebration of Japanese contemporary culture on the North American continent. This year’s four-day event drew an impressive crowd of 410,000 attendees and showcased diverse attractions, including a highly anticipated Sukeban World Championship Fight, spotlighting the exciting world of Japanese women’s professional wrestling. As is tradition, the expo was also a vibrant display of creative self-expression, with countless attendees showcasing elaborate and impressive cosplay creations. Our friends at Minerablu were on hand to capture the most outstanding costumes.
While anime was naturally the dominant theme among the cosplay, video game characters also made a significant appearance. Of course, it was inevitable that at least one costume inspired by Elden Ring would grace the event. (Perhaps surprisingly, there wasn’t a single representation from Marvel Rivals featured this year!) The strong showing of anime inspired creativity produced many unique and innovative designs, including an exceptional rendition of Derpy from KPop Demon Hunters. We anticipate seeing even more characters from that series in upcoming cosplay showcases, as more cosplayers complete their inspired creations.
