The initial phase of the Battlefield 6 beta is now live for those fortunate enough to have secured an access key. However, it appears a significant number of others are equally content to observe gameplay through the numerous streams available on Twitch.
Currently, nearly every prominent streamer on Twitch, alongside veteran Battlefield broadcasters, is actively showcasing the game.
At the time of this writing, the Battlefield 6 beta is drawing an impressive 750,000 viewers on Twitch. In fact, the combined viewership of the next five most popular games on the platform—including League of Legends, Just Chatting, Counter-Strike, Fortnite, and GTA 5— barely surpasses the concurrent viewership of the BF6 beta.
Battlefield 6‘s current popularity makes it a highly desirable title for streamers. It’s not uncommon for content creators to flock to popular games, and this trend isn’t limited to Battlefield or even shooter games. However, such widespread interest in a Battlefield title is noteworthy.
A significant factor driving viewership is the incentive for those without early access to the beta to watch for a minimum of 30 minutes in exchange for a beta access code. The ongoing Twitch Drops campaign also rewards viewers with in-game cosmetic items, such as weapon and character skins, for prolonged viewing.
Ultimately, these incentives wouldn’t be effective if viewers weren’t genuinely interested. The remarkable performance of the Battlefield 6 beta on Steam, along with the positive reception following the recent multiplayer gameplay reveal, suggest that DICE and EA have created a highly anticipated and successful game.
