While solo gaming can be fulfilling, the joy of playing with friends is undeniable. The ensuing mayhem, especially in a party game setting, elevates the fun to a whole new level.
The *Mario Party* series stands as a classic example, known for both its iconic status and potential for frustrating gameplay. However, the party game genre extends far beyond this series.
The best party games offer a blend of madness, unpredictability, and entertainment when played in a group. Whether you’re competing head-to-head or working together towards a common goal, these games guarantee hours of shared enjoyment.
So, let’s get the party started and explore some fantastic party game options!

Moving Out
Get Ready to Move Some Furniture
Moving to a new home can often trigger not-so-fond memories of packing and relocation hassles. *Moving Out*, developed by Team17, cleverly turns this experience on its head, offering a refreshing and enjoyable take on the concept.
This cooperative adventure presents a vibrant and physics-based world where you’ll be tasked with moving various objects in wildly unconventional ways. Expect to hurl pillows, use bed frames to smash through walls, and engage in other ridiculous antics.
Packmore awaits with plenty to do, and it’s best enjoyed with friends. Be warned, though: *Moving Out* may test the strength of your friendships as coordinating your movements can be surprisingly challenging.

WarioWare: Get It Together!
Life in the Fast Lane of Microgames
Since Wario’s transformation from an anti-hero to a comical, money-obsessed character in the original GBA *WarioWare* title, I’ve been a dedicated fan. While putting on hats and battling genies had its appeal, I’ve discovered that Wario truly shines when engaging in outrageous microgames.
*WarioWare: Get It Together!* provides the best of both worlds. A compelling story mode is included, alongside Variety Pack and online Wario Cup modes. The best part? Every mode can be enjoyed with a friend (or rival!).
The objective is simple: survive over 200 microgames that encompass a range of bizarre activities. These range from brushing teeth to plucking armpit hairs, all presented with a charming, cartoonish art style.
The game’s primary drawback is the potential for mastery over each microgame, which can diminish replay value. Nevertheless, the initial novelty of *WarioWare: Get It Together!* offers a unique and enjoyable experience.

Ultimate Chicken Horse
Unleash Your Inner Animal
If you’re eager to showcase your platforming skills, *Ultimate Chicken Horse* is the perfect outlet. This party game allows you to construct the level as you play, all while attempting to sabotage your friends’ progress (and, hopefully, not your own).
Strategic placement is crucial. As you wall-jump and narrowly avoid obstacles, you’ll strategically position perilous traps to impede your opponents. The game boasts a cast of unique animals, an assortment of challenges, and even cross-platform functionality.
Despite its merits, a couple of factors prevented *Ultimate Chicken Horse* from scoring higher. The unpredictable nature of the difficulty, which varies depending on your fellow players, can be a source of frustration.
Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch version suffers from a reduced number of levels and content, which is a drawback if you’re hoping to play with friends on that platform. Nevertheless, the Steam version provides a highly enjoyable experience.

The Jackbox Party Pack 6
Get Ready for Some Hilarious Mini-Games
For a considerable period, I held the opinion that the *Jackbox* games were all mediocre and uninspired. That changed completely after playing *The Jackbox Party Pack 6* at a friend’s gathering and having a blast.
This game challenges you to outwit your friends through a democratic process. Voting plays a central role, influencing who triumphs in a series of utterly ridiculous games.
Perhaps the most appealing feature is the game’s accessibility through any web-enabled device, which expands the possibilities for shared enjoyment.
Some of my personal favorites include Trivia Murder Party and Push the Button. However, the collection is devoid of truly weak entries, ensuring an immersive and entertaining experience that lasts until the mini-games lose their novelty.

Heave Ho
Hold On Tight!
Devolver Digital consistently impresses with the remarkable diversity of its published games. Even then, *Heave Ho*, a wacky party game where movement relies on grabbing objects with your hands and swinging, took me by surprise.
The description hardly does it justice. It’s utterly chaotic, even in cooperative play. When playing a versus mode level, *Heave Ho* transforms into a colorful and fiercely competitive grudge match.
The game’s core appeal lies in discovering ingenious ways to pull off platforming feats despite the odds, with falling to your doom a constant and looming threat.
*Heave Ho*’s ranking is somewhat limited by the sometimes excessive difficulty, which can detract from the overall enjoyment.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Time to Defuse the Tension!
We’ve all seen those movie scenes where someone has to work against the clock to miraculously defuse a bomb, often down to the wire. *Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes* remarkably translates that tension into a thrilling party game.
Only one copy of the game is necessary, dividing players into two roles: the defuser and the Experts. The defuser is the only one who can see the bomb, while the Experts rely on a manual to guide the defuser through the process of disarming the ticking explosive safely.
The straightforward premise yields chaotic fun, especially when procedural generation is added to the mix. For those seeking an even more immersive experience, VR functionality and mod support are available.

Stick Fight: The Game
Prepare for Stick Figure Mayhem!
While I typically avoid games with exaggerated physics, *Stick Fight: The Game* turns this concept into a wildly
