As is often the case before major gaming showcases, unreleased details and materials are finding their way online ahead of schedule. The upcoming Battlefield 6, which fans eagerly anticipate, is the latest victim. Even as EA and Battlefield Studios gear up to officially unveil the next chapter of the Battlefield saga, certain surprises have been prematurely revealed.
In an ironic twist, the source of this leak seems to be EA itself.
A brief, 15-second promotional video for Battlefield 6, reminiscent of advertisements seen on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and social media, has surfaced online before its intended release. The clip, shared by ModernWarzone on X (formerly Twitter), likely condenses a longer, more comprehensive multiplayer trailer – a common tactic for pre-order campaigns.
This advertisement was presumably intended to debut following the full multiplayer reveal but seemingly went live prematurely. Notably, the leaked spot reinforces the previously reported release date of October 10, which has been circulating for several weeks.
Approximately half of the visuals showcased are drawn from the initial campaign trailer. The remaining portion features entirely new footage, almost certainly extracted from the multiplayer trailer scheduled for release later today. This multiplayer segment offers a quick glimpse at key gameplay elements, including environmental destruction, vehicular warfare, and the ability to drag fallen teammates while reviving them.
The most significant reveal, however, occurs toward the video’s conclusion. It appears to showcase a revamped iteration of Operation Firestorm. This desert-based map, centered around an oil field, originally debuted in Battlefield 3 and was subsequently reimagined in Battlefield 4. This would mark Firestorm’s third appearance, and while the brief glimpse makes conclusive assessments difficult, the map’s visuals appear to have been upgraded alongside some minor design refinements.
The leaked video’s content largely concludes there. However, it’s not uncommon for additional leaks to surface. Perhaps details regarding the rumored beta launch date will emerge in another unreleased advertisement before the full multiplayer reveal.
For those who may have missed the announcement, the official multiplayer gameplay reveal is scheduled for today at 1:30am PT, 2:30pm ET, and 7:30pm UK time. We will provide comprehensive coverage of all major announcements as they are unveiled.
