A representative from Bitget has issued the first official comment regarding the recent security breach. They confirmed that the wallets impacted by the attack are now secured.

The representative noted that most of the stolen assets were taken from hot wallets, while cold wallets remained untouched. This statement follows initial on-chain analyses that raised concerns about potential compromises to some cold wallets during the early stages of the incident.

Additionally, the exchange has started transferring remaining assets from the addresses from which the attacker withdrew funds to new wallets, indicating that they are actively reinforcing their security protocols.

Still, users are advised to exercise caution to protect their funds.
