Walmart is currently offering a fantastic deal on the Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set, featuring a 20% price reduction. This offer is part of their newly initiated Bricktember Sale, a promotional event filled with unique Lego bundles and markdowns on normally pricey sets. This reduces the cost of the 1,215-piece collectible to just $104, down from its original $130. The Bricktember event also includes savings on expansive Lego Super Mario playsets. Plus, the Bowser Express Train, a 1,392-piece set, is now available for $80, a significant drop from its previous price of $120.
While both Walmart and Amazon recently offered the Super Mario World Lego set for $117, currently, only Walmart features the lower price of $104. Amazon’s $117 deal is still valid. The Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi set, released last October, stands out as one of the few Lego Nintendo offerings specifically designed for adult fans and still actively in production.
$104 (was $130)
The Lego Super Mario World: Mario and Yoshi set comprises 1,215 pieces, ingeniously recreating the pixelated style of the Super Nintendo era. Building this set offers an enjoyable experience, resulting in a fantastic display piece that will appeal especially to those who cherish the 16-bit era of Super Mario.
Once assembled, the model measures 15.5 x 10 x 4 inches and incorporates interactive features. A dial behind Yoshi’s head allows you to extend his tongue, while a crank on the model’s side sets in motion a detailed animation. Yoshi’s legs move, giving the illusion that he is running. This is enhanced by a bouncing action. Mario’s cape sways subtly, reminiscent of the game.
Including an Action Tag, if you also own a Adventures with Lego Super Mario starter course, will allow it to react with Interactive figures, (Mario, Luigi, or Peach).
Lego has created instructions that are easy to understand. I used the physical instruction booklet with the Lego Builder app on my iPad. The number-coded squares in the booklet used for “pixel art” were extremely helpful, I found, particularly as someone with colorblindness.
Although this Lego set is technically part of the “for adults” line that is 18-plus, older children that have built sets with over 1,000 pieces should not encounter significant difficulties.
The Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi is one of a limited number of Lego Nintendo display pieces created with adults in mind. Earlier this year, Lego introduced a 1,972-piece Mario Kart model, priced at $170. This detailed model includes Mario’s iconic kart and the first Lego replica of Mario in his 3D modern rendition.
On October 1st, one year to the date that the Lego Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi launched, Lego’s widely anticipated Game Boy model will be available for purchase from major retailers, including Lego Stores. With 421 pieces, this building set has a price point of just $60, and includes two cartridges, three lenticular screens, multiple display stands, and interactive elements. See our Lego Game Boy preorder guide for more details. Please note that preorders have sold out on multiple occasions, including on Amazon during the late part of August. However, Walmart replenished their supply around this time.
Lego Nintendo Building Sets for Adults

As mentioned, the Bowser Express Train has the most pieces of any Lego Super Mario playset currently available. Although there are some Nintendo display models for adults featuring more pieces – like The Mighty Bowser which has approximately double the number of pieces – the 1,392-piece Bowser’s Express Train is categorised as a Lego Super Mario Expansion Set. Modelled after the Bowser Express level from Super Mario 3D World, it features four train carriages, a station, and interactive features such as a spring-loaded shooter. Plus, the set includes six Lego Super Mario characters to build.
Until recently, the Bowser Express Train rarely received any discounts, usually selling at full price, now you can save $40 on this great Bowser Lego.
