- Global financial messaging network Swift is planning to integrate a “blockchain-based shared ledger” into its infrastructure. This enhancement aims to facilitate faster, international payment processing. Thirty-four financial organizations, hailing from 16 different nations, are consulting with Swift on this initiative.
- Lightspeed Commerce, a payment solution provider, has launched Showroom. This new offering equips retailers with an AI-powered online storefront to showcase their offerings, but it does not include transactional capabilities.
- Citicorp intends to merge its Citi Token Services, leveraging blockchain technology, with its existing USD Clearing technology. The goal is to provide a streamlined cross-border payment solution for its corporate clientele in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
- Shiji, a China-based provider of point-of-sale systems specializing in the hospitality sector, announced that American Liberty Hospitality has broadened its adoption of Shiji POS systems to encompass seven of its properties, including the recently acquired Hilton Houston Westchase.
- Curve Dental, a software company catering to dental practices, has unveiled Curve Pay. According to the company, Curve Pay unifies clinical, operational, and financial workflows into a single, integrated system.
- A newly released report, the “Enterprise Payments Playbook,” reveals that 74% of business leaders believe consumers expect speedier and more seamless transaction experiences. Furthermore, 58% of retailers attribute lost revenue and higher cart abandonment rates to deficiencies in their current technology. The Playbook, sponsored by FreedomPay and Stripe, is based on surveys of 250 finance professionals conducted by Forbes Insights.
- Commerce-focused technology developer MTech Mobility has made an investment in payments technology firm Check Please, and will incorporate Check Please’s technologies with their point of sale offering. Financial details of the transaction were not made public.
- Visa Inc. has announced the general availability of its Visa Commercial Solutions (VCS) Hub. This technological resource aims to support business-to-business payments for card issuers on a global scale.
- Global Payments Inc. has welcomed Patricia Watson and Archana Deskus to its board of directors as independent members, effective immediately. Ms. Watson previously served as the chief information and technology officer at NCR Atleos. Ms. Deskus’s prior role was chief technology officer at PayPal Holdings Inc.
- Early Warning Services announced a partnership. Their Paze online checkout platform will be the official jersey patch partner of the Atlanta Hawks, a team playing in the National Basketball Association.
