Get ready for the Flabébé Community Day in Pokémon Go! Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 14, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time, when this delightful event takes place.
Important to remember: Flabébé is known for having distinct color variations based on geographical location. The Flabébé colors exclusive to other regions will not be featured during this Community Day event in your specific area. Here’s a breakdown of the color variations and their corresponding regions:
- Red Flower Flabébé: Found in Europe, the Middle East, and the African continent.
- Blue Flower Flabébé: Native to the Asia-Pacific region.
- Yellow Flower Flabébé: Exclusive to the Americas.
Keep an eye out! White and Orange Flower Flabébé are available worldwide, but they are slightly more elusive than the others.
As is typical of Community Day events, prepare for Flabébé to appear frequently. The chances of encountering a Shiny Flabébé are significantly increased. In addition, the event brings numerous other benefits and special features, detailed below.
Tips for Catching a Shiny Flabébé
According to past research from The Silph Road (accessible via Wayback Machine), the likelihood of encountering a Shiny Pokémon during Community Days is roughly 1 in 24. This means if you remain active and playing throughout the three-hour window, your chances of finding multiple Shiny Flabébé are very high.
If you have limited time or a shortage of Poké Balls, consider using an Incense. Then, quickly tap each Flabébé to see if it’s shiny and run from the ones that aren’t. Note that any Flabébé you have checked will face your avatar to remind you which you have already seen.
Evolve Floette into Florges between Sept. 14 at 2 PM and Sept. 21 at 10 PM local time to have it learn the powerful charged move Chilling Water.
During this Community Day, the number of hearts required to evolve Floette into Florges will be reduced to just seven (down from the usual 20). Make sure to make the most of this great advantage!
If you miss the evolution window, there will likely be another opportunity during a Community Day weekend in December. As another option, you can always use an Elite TM to teach Florges the Chilling Water move.
Florges is valuable in PvP battles. Use this opportunity to find one with suitable PvP stats (low Attack with high Defense and HP). Pair it with Fairy Wind, Moonblast, and the newly acquired Chilling Water, and it is sure to be competitive.
For PvE activities like raids and gyms, Florges is acceptable. While it can inflict some damage as a Fairy-type attacker, there are many stronger choices, such as Incarnate Forme Enamorus, Crowned Sword Zacian, Tapu Lele, Gardevoir, Togekiss, and even Sylveon. Investing in Florges for PvE combat may not be worthwhile.
The following bonuses will be active during Flabébé Community Day:
- Eggs placed in Incubators during the event hatch at 1/4 the usual distance.
- Receive twice the Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Trainers level 31 and above have double the usual chance of receiving XL Candy when catching Pokémon.
- Incense modules last for three hours.
- Lure Modules last for three hours.
- Enjoy surprise Flabébé photobombs when taking snapshots.
- Make one additional Special Trade.
- The Stardust cost for making trades is cut in half.
Be sure to place your eggs in Incubators and use an Incense. Strive to capture the strongest Flabébé you can.
If you can Mega Evolve Gardevoir, Mawile, Altaria, Audino, or Diancie, you’ll gain even more Flabébé Candy for each catch.
Participate in the special “Community Day Continued” Timed Research, available until September 21, which offers rewards in the form of extra Flabébé, including those with exclusive themed backgrounds. This research maintains the increased Shiny Flabébé encounter rate even after the main three-hour event is over, so take advantage of it for additional chances to find a Shiny.
