Often, cryptocurrency advertisements are full of grand promises and complicated tech language. But Coinbase’s “Everything Is Fine”
ad campaign
is different. It’s funny, understands current events, and talks openly about inflation, the housing market, and what’s happening in the United Kingdom in 2025.

Coinbase released this darkly humorous ad on Thursday. It was quickly
recognized
by Ad Age for being clever and original. It shows a new way for finance companies to address the worries people have every day.

Coinbase’s Funny Take on Financial Problems

“Everything Is Fine” was made with the agency Mother and directed by Steve Rogers. It comes out at a time when people are very aware of economic problems.

The ad starts with someone saying, “Everything is fine.” But the pictures show something very different and funny: a leaky roof falling apart, dying plants, peeling wallpaper, and rats running around in trash. These images represent inflation, the economy, and how easily people can lose their financial security. Usually, financial companies don’t talk about these things so directly.

Unlike most crypto ads, “Everything Is Fine” doesn’t brag about new technology or getting rich quickly. Instead, it focuses on the uneasy feeling and strange humor people have when their money seems to be worth less and things are getting more expensive. This makes the ad easy to relate to and hard to forget.

Advertising That’s Funny and Honest

Coinbase and its team don’t try to scare viewers or confuse them with complicated terms. Instead, they use dry humor and familiar signs of decline (dirty streets, messy clothes) to show what many people feel: that what they’re told doesn’t match what they experience.

One of the best parts of the ad is when a rich couple in a convertible says:

“We’re off to Dubai, it’s time to jump ship.”

This is about wealthy people leaving the UK. About 16,500 millionaires are expected to leave the country in 2025,
according to
Henley & Partners. This is the biggest increase in millionaires leaving ever recorded, more than double the year before. Many are choosing to go to places like Portugal or
Dubai.

The ad got a lot of comments from the crypto community. Peter McCormack, who used to host the What Bitcoin Did podcast, congratulated Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong,
saying:

“This is brilliant.”

McCormack, who lives in Bedford, UK and now hosts The Peter McCormack show about issues in the country, knows what’s going on in the UK.

“Everything Is Fine” shows a new type of crypto advertising. The best ads don’t just explain blockchain; they reflect what’s happening in society, make fun of things, and use stories to build trust. This makes Coinbase seem more real than other companies that are still just selling dreams.
