Based in America, the Space Exploration and Research Agency (SERA) is breaking new ground in the realm of space tourism by incorporating blockchain technology to foster community involvement. SERA is pioneering a program to launch six people into sub-orbital space aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard spacecraft.
Recently, applications commenced for this groundbreaking mission through the SERA Mission Control mini-application. This app, operating on the TON Blockchain, can be accessed through the Telegram messaging service. Potential space travelers can earn SpaceDust, a point-based reward system within the application, to increase their chances of securing a coveted spot on the flight.
SERA’s project extends beyond space travel, encompassing outreach programs focused on nations with limited involvement in space exploration. These programs provide chances for students to design and conduct experiments in space. The astronaut selection process, managed in a decentralized manner on the TON Blockchain, allows global citizens to participate in choosing the individuals who will embark on this momentous space journey.
