Recently, official Cyberpunk social media channels have sparked a fresh wave of investigation with an unusual quest centered around a seemingly innocuous unlisted video: 24 minutes of pure static.
On September 1st, 2025, CD Projekt Red posted an image featuring an in-universe recruitment message from Rosalind Myers, President of the New United States of America (NUSA) within the Cyberpunk universe. However, on X (formerly Twitter), the official Cyberpunk 2077 account downplayed speculation about the post hinting at new game content, stating that it was simply “part of an activity tied to the Phantom Liberty anniversary.” Despite this, fans who suspected a deeper meaning were right.
As uncovered by ArcticXWolf on Reddit, the image’s binary code contained a link that leads to an image of a Roman coin. This link, when accessed via the anonymous messaging platform secretMSG, redirects to the aforementioned unlisted YouTube video. The video, titled “Secret Message from NUSA,” appears to consist entirely of 24 minutes and 53 seconds of static. While I appreciate experimental art, this particular piece is… challenging.
The situation gets even more interesting. By examining specific frames of the video, viewers have identified the phrase “FILES DETECTED CLASSIFIED.” Unfortunately, this appears to be the most definitive finding so far. Some players have turned to large language models (LLMs) for assistance, but, unsurprisingly, have found nothing of substance. Others have drawn parallels between the static video and a potential secret in the Edgerunners 2 teaser. This connection may or may not relate to Cyberpunk’s space exploration conspiracy theories. Adding another layer, one knowledgeable fan quoted the opening line from William Gibson’s seminal cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer:
