News of a video game’s launch date alteration often evokes a sense of inevitability, frequently stemming from delays. It’s become commonplace in the gaming world; the patient approach of developers like Team Cherry with their famously long-awaited “Silksong” is a rarity. However, the recent announcement regarding “Dying Light: The Beast” is a pleasant deviation from this trend.

And by “deviation,” we mean a truly minuscule adjustment. Initially scheduled for release on September 19th, the game will now arrive… on September 18th! One might question the impact of such a slight shift on Techland’s earnings, but I lack the financial acumen to predict revenue trends or understand the complexities of market forecasting.

According to a press release, Tymon SmektaƂa, franchise director for “Dying Light,” stated that due to the game’s readiness, the team sought to express gratitude to their audience. This involved pushing themselves to the limit, resulting in the shaving off of one day from the waiting period. While the phrasing might seem a tad exaggerated for such a minor change, it’s undeniably preferable to another disheartening delay announcement.

Furthermore, as an additional gesture of appreciation for those who have pre-ordered or plan to pre-order the game, an “exclusive new reward” awaits them. Specific details are currently under wraps, with a full reveal anticipated during launch week, which is just around the corner.

Earlier this year, our very own Edwin had the opportunity to preview the forthcoming open-world title, describing the experience as “on the whole, quite jolly.”
