A notable change has occurred in the cryptocurrency market as Ethereum (ETH) has surpassed Bitcoin (BTC) in spot trading volume for the first time in more than a year. This development suggests a possible change in how investors view the two leading cryptocurrencies. Data from CryptoQuant reveals that ETH achieved $25.7 billion in spot volume during the past week, exceeding Bitcoin’s $24.4 billion. The ETH/BTC volume ratio has climbed above 1, a milestone not seen since June of the previous year, indicating a growing trend of traders shifting their capital into Ethereum and various alternative cryptocurrencies.

Recent activity tracked by Lookonchain shows that seven newly established cryptocurrency wallets have collectively acquired a substantial amount of Ethereum, totaling 466,253 ETH, which is equivalent to approximately $1.7 billion. Notably, 40,591 ETH ($148 million) were added to these wallets just today, further emphasizing the ongoing accumulation of Ethereum.
