President Donald Trump has expressed a willingness to collaborate with Democratic legislators, providing investors with some confidence regarding potential cooperation between the White House and Congress.
Ethereum’s resurgence aligns with a wider recovery in the cryptocurrency market, with total market capitalization for digital assets rising by roughly 3%.
From a technical perspective, $ETH has regained several key moving averages and has surpassed a descending resistance trendline, enhancing its short-term forecast.
Nevertheless, indications of overextended momentum imply that the cryptocurrency may encounter resistance near the $2,548 mark.
Ethereum Surge After Democratic Wins
Ethereum’s growth accelerated following the sweeping triumphs of Democrats in the recent U.S. midterm elections.
The party successfully took control of both chambers of Congress and secured significant gubernatorial wins, particularly in Texas and Nevada.
These election outcomes signaled a notable change in Washington’s political climate and raised uncertainties about the future of economic and regulatory policies for the remainder of President Trump’s administration.
However, Trump’s reaction seemed to alleviate some fears of extended political strife.
As reported by The New York Times, the President stated he was “absolutely willing” to engage with Democrats in light of the election results.
This comment suggested that bipartisan cooperation on certain legislative issues might still be achievable despite shifts in congressional leadership.
Vice President JD Vance, on the other hand, attributed the Republican Party’s electoral setbacks primarily to public discontent regarding the Iran conflict.
In a post on X, Vance claimed that the war significantly influenced the electoral outcomes.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was…

He emphasized voter concerns over inflation and a general desire to end the war as pivotal factors that contributed to the Democratic success.
These developments have shifted the political landscape as financial markets analyzed the potential implications for government spending, inflation rates, and economic policy.
Ethereum’s rise led to considerable liquidations in the cryptocurrency derivatives market.
Data from CoinGlass indicates that around $195.4 million in $ETH positions were liquidated in the past 24 hours.
Short positions comprised $112.70 million of the total, showing that traders anticipating further price declines were caught off guard by the recovery.
These liquidations may exert upward pressure on prices, as closing short positions typically involves buying back the underlying asset.
The cryptocurrency has also regained its realized price, which is a critical valuation metric monitored in on-chain analysis.
Ethereum Surpasses Descending Trendline, Positive Technical Outlook
A review of Ethereum’s daily chart reveals a significant improvement after it broke above a descending resistance trendline that had been in place since October 2.
This breakthrough occurred after the price surpassed the $2,355 horizontal resistance level and several important exponential moving averages.
The recent advancement of $ETH beyond these indicators indicates an increase in buying interest following the earlier decline.
Currently, the cryptocurrency is trading around $2,415, just above its 50-day EMA at $2,411.
A successful retest of $2,411 could bolster confidence in this breakout and encourage more buying activity.
Conversely, a drop below this level might suggest weakening momentum in the recent price advance.
Momentum indicators favor Ethereum’s upward trajectory, although they also imply that the recent rally might decelerate in the short term.
The 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) is currently near 57, indicating that buyers have an edge without entering extreme momentum territory.
The immediate technical outlook for Ethereum relies heavily on whether buyers can maintain support around the $2,411 area.
This level combines the 50-day EMA with a previously crucial horizontal resistance level. If $ETH stays above $2,411, the next key target for upside movement is $2,548.
A rise from $2,430 to $2,548 would translate to a further gain of about 4.9%. If a breakout above $2,548 is confirmed, it could solidify the recovery and place the next resistance level at $2,636 within sight.
Beyond this resistance, the $2,781 area emerges as a more ambitious bullish target.
On the downside, Ethereum’s initial significant support region ranges from $2,359 to $2,355. The 20-day EMA at $2,359 closely aligns with the horizontal support level at $2,355, marking an essential technical zone.
A sustained breach below this area could expose the 100-day EMA around $2,346. Further declines could draw attention to the 200-day EMA at $2,323.
If Ethereum breaks below these moving averages, the recovery could significantly weaken, leading to deeper support levels around $2,250 and $2,204.
