EA Sports FC 26 will feature five brand-new PlayStyles, as unveiled by EA during a detailed gameplay presentation shared on their official YouTube channel.
Some of these updated PlayStyles merge or refine existing ones, while one incorporates entirely new gameplay mechanics.
Here’s a look at the new PlayStyles:
- Aerial Fortress
- Precision Header
- GameChanger
- Inventive
- Enforcer
Aerial Fortress is a defensive skill for players who excel in aerial duels within their own half. This replaces the older Aerial PlayStyle, shifting the focus to defense. The standard PlayStyle grants higher jumps and increased presence in aerial challenges, while the PlayStyle+ version enhances these abilities even further with substantially improved physical defensive prowess.
Precision Header caters to offensive players who prioritize well-placed, accurate headers over sheer power. It’s a refined take on the Power Header PlayStyle, emphasizing precision. Both the regular and PlayStyle+ versions enable players to execute headers with enhanced power and accuracy.
Inventive combines the passing elements of both the Flair and Trivela PlayStyles, allowing players to make skillful and trivela-style passes with much-improved accuracy.
GameChanger, on the other hand, fuses the shooting aspects of Flair and Trivela, empowering players to unleash spectacular and trivela-inspired shots with amplified power and precision.
Lastly, Enforcer serves as the designated target man PlayStyle. It empowers strong attackers to shield the ball with greater ease and ward off defenders while dribbling. Regular and PlayStyle+ versions of Enforcer grant enhanced effectiveness in shoulder challenges and ball shielding.
These fresh PlayStyles will supersede Flair, Trivela, Aerial, and Power Header, rendering them obsolete thanks to this expanded skill set.
Beyond these PlayStyle changes, EA Sports has articulated their ambition to elevate the overall gameplay experience in FC 26, featuring improvements to dribbling, player movement, and shooting. They are also overhauling goalkeepers and tackling mechanics, allowing for greater ball retention after a tackle instead of immediately relinquishing possession.
EA Sports FC 26 launches on September 26th for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch consoles, and PC.
