A recent enhancement to Gemini, the AI-powered assistant developed by Google, equips it with the ability to automatically retain details from previous interactions.

According to an announcement made on August 13, this memory capability is activated upon installation by default. Users who wish to maintain their conversational privacy have the option to manually deactivate this setting.

Initially, the memory enhancement will be rolled out to specific regions for the Gemini 2.5 Pro model. Google has plans to expand availability to more areas and the Gemini 2.5 Flash version in the future.
