007: First Light, the upcoming title crafted by the studio renowned for Hitman, is set to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, the presumed Nintendo Switch successor, and PC in March of 2026. The release date was unveiled during Sony’s recent State of Play presentation.
As previewed on September 3rd, Sony and IO Interactive showcased over half an hour of 007: First Light. This extensive preview offered the first in-depth look at gameplay, following earlier promotional material. The presentation highlighted Bond’s skills in stealth, combat, vehicle operation, and creating general chaos. IOI then confirmed that First Light will launch across all supported platforms on March 27, 2026.

Reflecting current industry trends, the game will offer premium pre-order editions with early access. Purchasing any digital version ahead of release grants players a 24-hour head start. Furthermore, a collector’s edition of 007: First Light is available for $300. This premium package includes a physical copy of the game, digital extras, and a replica Golden Gun, complete with gold bullets and a display stand. The inclusion of this classic Bond artifact, despite the game apparently not relating to that specific era, may seem unexpected.
007: First Light, first announced in 2020, marks the highly anticipated next release from IO Interactive. It will depict a young James Bond undertaking some of his earliest missions. Fans of the Hitman series have eagerly awaited this title, hoping for gameplay akin to Agent 47’s adventures. The State of Play reveal suggested a Hitman-esque experience, emphasizing infiltration strategies, stealth mechanics, and problem-solving. However, the presentation also showed some frame rate issues and noticeable motion blur. Hopefully, 007: First Light will demonstrate improved visual fidelity and performance upon its launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 (tentative name), PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 27, 2026.
